Mosman Home

This client had returned to Australia from Hong Kong and initially only required help with some bathroom tile selections, a bedroom for a teenage daughter and assistance with carpets.

As with many projects, the brief expanded to more areas of the home including window coverings, furniture, lighting, accessories, carpeting, artwork, wall finishes and a review of the items client had already selected to ensure everything was in harmony.

THE INSPIRATION FOR THIS PROJECT

Mosman is renowned for it’s federation homes with high ceilings, smaller room sizes and more traditional interior architectural details such as ornate ceilings, sash windows and floorboards. However, this home had a very modern feel due to a previous renovation. This, as well as the steps the client had already taken with some interior details, guided the designers with selections and with pieces that would suit the home.

THE CHALLENGES IN RELATION TO LIGHT

This is where LightCo were able to assist. In the dining area, the Etoile light was the perfect centrepiece. They needed the warmth of brass to sit well with the rich colouring in the dining table and provide a focal point as the dining area was visible from the front entrance. In the daughter’s bedroom, the Le Trulle pendant worked perfectly with the soft feminine wallpaper, without overpowering it.
